Scout Store

The brief included creating a new digital marketing strategy for Scout Store who are the merchandising arm of the Scouts, to improve customer engagement and ultimately customer acquisition and retention.

I redefined their target audience to parents rather than Scouting leaders, and the campaign covered the website, alongside social and email campaigns, display advertising, PPC and magazine advertising.

Engagement soared across all channels, with a sharp increase in followers, likes and reach and most importantly sales. We carried out a similar campaign on their World Stores site too.

In addition to this I worked with the Senior Management team to challenge and motivate staff to successfully adopt new working methods, alongside building relationships with TSA staff and other external stakeholders.

Sheryl helped reshape our customer and marketing proposition just as I joined Scout Store. If you want someone to come in and add value and deliver results then I couldn’t recommend Sheryl high enough both as a client and a critical friend!

RSPCA

RSPCA

Working with Chichester College I delivered the Digital Marketing Apprenticeship to the RSPCA Marketing, Social and PR teams, across 18 months and via weekly face-to-face workshops at their Head Office.

Working with the teams at the RSPCA was great fun. The delegates ranged from early careers to senior managers and getting to know them and their marketing capabilities over the course was really interesting. The course included the CIM level 3 and 4 certifications alongside Digital Marketing and Coding techniques. I am proud to say that they all passed their apprenticeships.

Clarion Housing

The objective was to run a series of nationwide Marketing workshops to their residential community, to support those tenants who were keen to start new businesses and develop their marketing skillset.

The project ran for a year, and I met with a different group of delegates remotely every month over Zoom. We covered the basics of marketing planning, how to research your audience and create valuable content; how to choose the right tactics, and how to get started on a small budget. I also taught them how to analyse their results and look effectively at the insights they could access. It was an exciting project with delegates starting businesses across varying industries from music to leisure and finance to well-being, which meant continually adapting the content and being flexible to individual needs.

I highly recommend Sheryl. The workshops are engaging and informative and I always received great feedback from all delegates after each workshop

Unity Insurance Services

Unity is a charitable organisation & part of the Scouts. Initially the brief was to support their re-brand and new website creation however this then lead to marketing planning & content creation for social campaigns.

We work collaboratively to identify new routes to market alongside breathing new life into some of their older communications. Managing their social channels I utilise LinkedIn and Facebook to target both their charity customers and their Scouting audience. We publish regular blog content that also feeds their email campaigns.
Engagement has grown steadily over the years, and we are very proud of the customer base that we are developing.

Unity has partnered with Tipton Marketing for several years, initially engaging them for a complete rebrand and website launch. More recently, we brought Sheryl on board to manage our social media marketing. Over the past year, her support has been invaluable. Sheryl is knowledgeable, approachable, professional, and communicates clearly without overwhelming us with technical language. Working with her has been both effective and enjoyable.

Ropetackle Arts Centre

Ropetackle are a community-based Arts Centre in Shoreham, with a large events programme. With time pressures on their staff, my brief included helping them with their Content Marketing, Seasonal Programmes and PR & Publicity.

Ropetackle reached out for help with content production for their seasonal programmes. Compiling the publication was great fun, and so interesting to create vibrant and in about all the musicians, actors, writers and bands that perform regularly. Deadlines were tight, but I was able to meet these and together we produced a successful publication.

I also support them with PR work and creating press releases for the various acts and shows during the year.

A wonderfully warm and engaged professional who has been helping Ropetackle out with copywriting and spreading the news this summer. Delivers on time and knows exactly the right questions to ask when we are up against it. Has saved us a lot of time and headspace as we asked: “Can you do this please?” Answer always “yes!” Would thoroughly recommend. Thanks Sheryl.

Freedom Works

Having worked with Freedom Works since they opened their first Co-working space in Worthing, I was delighted to be asked to host the Recover and Rise SME Digital Accelerator Programme to support growing businesses.

These online workshop sessions offered digital support to new and growing local businesses and were well attended. We achieved the key objectives of the campaign, which were to highlight opportunities with digital service providers and tools and provide a link to mentoring services within West Sussex.
I have subsequently facilitated a second session where we delved more into the benefits of AI and SEO management.

I was lucky enough to be I introduced to Sheryl when we just started Freedom Works. Regardless of the stage we have been at Sheryl has been there. She understands local business, how to reach your audience, build and brand and more than that, which makes her quite special, is she understands working in and on budget. Her grown up and pragmatic approach provided us with not only a strategist. But a doer too!! I’d have no qualms in recommending her to help you with your growing marketing needs…”

Safe InSussex

Safe in Sussex

Amber House was a ground breaking project aimed at supporting those suffering domestic abuse and educating communities about the domestic abuse issues. My brief was to promote this refuge and this project to the wider community.

Safe in Sussex provide help and support for people affected by domestic abuse.
Through their refuges and support in the community, Safe in Sussex help people to recover from and be empowered to live a life free from abuse.

Amber House was a new initiative which brought a refuge house into the community to encourage those in need to seek support openly and to help to educate and protect.

I created a strategy which honed in on press coverage, both online and offline, which integrated with social and email support informed and educated stakeholders to fully promote Amber House.

As a small but rapidly expanding charity we turned to Sheryl to help us launch a ground-breaking project. Our charity supports survivors of domestic abuse and getting the right message across about this sensitive subject was very important to us. Sheryl understood our needs and supported us to create a marketing strategy. With Sheryl’s enthusiasm and support we successfully gained media coverage for our project . I would highly recommend Sheryl, she takes time to fully understand the needs of her clients and is a joy to work with.

Oxford College of Marketing

Oxford College of Marketing

As a tutor for Oxford College of Marketing, I am proud to teach new marketers who are studying for their Chartered Institute of Marketing Qualifications from Level 3 to Level 6.

“I had the pleasure of meeting Sheryl while pursuing my CIM Marketing qualification. Over the course of almost a year, we met virtually once a week, and she was absolutely brilliant. Sheryl guided me through complex marketing tools, metrics, matrices, and more, always ensuring I understood each concept thoroughly.

Sheryl created a comfortable learning environment where I felt at ease asking any question. Her patience and ability to explain things in different ways or contexts were invaluable as sometimes it took a few goes! Whenever I struggled or fell behind, Sheryl provided support, guidance, and positive, genuine feedback that helped me believe in myself and stay motivated. Thanks to her, I achieved a distinction in the course.

Sheryl’s knowledge and experience in marketing are unparalleled. She adeptly addressed the diverse assignments and topics of each student, consistently applying her expertise to our specific questions with a smile and a calm demeanour – there was no questions about the topic that she was not able to answer. Her ability to manage it all was truly mind-blowing.”

ETI Electronic Temperature Instruments

ETI

The remit was to train the internal sales office team on customer service techniques to support the sales efficiency of the business and drive further business growth.

“Sheryl’s sales training has had a very positive impact on changing the culture of our internal sales office team. The content of the sales training was very good, it not only reinforced key sales techniques, but Sheryl presented a variety of strategies that we can use immediately to improve our sales results. Sheryl’s approach was both relaxed and engaging, and she managed to get everyone involved during the sessions. Additionally, Sheryl was easy to work with from a sales management perspective, and customised the training program to address a number of specific issues we face in our company and market sector.”
