Worthing & Adur Chamber Content Marketing Day …

It was great fun to deliver the opening speech at the recent Worthing and Adur Content Marketing Day. In my role as Vice President and Marketing lead, I was asked to open the day and give everyone ‘food for thought’.

So what is Marketing ? What does it mean to you ? It’s being in the right place, at the right time, with the right product at the right price, to the right audience, lots of rights and lots of opportunities to not get it right!

So firstly, consider what you are trying to achieve .. is it new customers, more conversions from prospects or are you looking to build more brand loyalty. It helps to set clear objectives.

Next think about what stage your prospects or customers are at in their buying journey – the customer journey is a key marketing framework and it’s really helpful with your planning. Do they know about your company already ? How do they find out more ? Where do they look ? What do they base their decision on ?

Then produce great content to solve their issues, know your audience, use different content at different stages of their buying journey and know what makes your offer better than your competitors.

Working our your USP can be tricky but think about how you add value ?

Lastly, measure your results, your engagements, your conversions and your customer loyalty to make sure all your hard work is achieving success.
